STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY REDUNDANCY
False Fall is no more! The crew has been enjoying the breeze while working on a new dock build and we’ve been seeing a lot more of Mama Kitty now that the heat has broken; she’s such a sweet yard cat!
The new dock is coming along nicely, and we’re in the blueprint stages for some more! Everyone seems to really like the look and structural integrity of our docks. I know we say that a lot… structural integrity… but we say it because we understand that on a lake with this much saltwater content, a dock needs to be able to last as long as possible, and the materials we use at Thomasson Construction tend to last the longest. We have docks on the lake that were built 30 years ago, and only need quarterly inspections and minimal maintenance on them! That’s saying a lot for how unexpected the lake can be! Our docks last a long time because we have the necessary experience for building them properly and we use nothing but the best and most reliable materials.
Docks at Thomasson Construction are built using galvanized steel rather than wood or painted steel. This means the bases will never rot and the chance of rust goes down significantly. We also have a welding standard here. If the I-beams aren’t welded properly, they’re not going to hold for years and years. That’s why our crew doesn’t leave a welding task until it is 100% completed to the Thomasson Standard.
To some people it may sound like extra work or a waste of time, because you know, the customer is waiting for their dock to be finished! But if we aren’t serious about the quality we are delivering to our customers, then they won’t have reliable docks to enjoy the Lake Life on. And we take that personally.
